You know you're from Ohio/Texas when...

I recently saw a list that was, "You know you're from Ohio when..." The list was good, but I figured I could make one I liked better. While I was at it I made a list for Texas too, because I'm really a Texan that has been misplaced in Ohio for a while.

You know you're from Ohio when...
-You've figured out that Ohio's state flag looks like this-not this-You think meeting an OSU football player is meeting a celebrity
-You know a buckeye is not the eye of a deer
-You have a recipe to make buckeyes
-You're a minority while grocery shopping at Meijer
-You know Jack Nicklaus is a golfer and not a movie star
-You think Graeter's has the best ice cream
-You refer to the color red as scarlet
-You've driven on the same street for 4 blocks and seen the name change 4 times
-You know how to respond when someone yells, "O-H"
-You've used the heater and A/C on the same day
-You wear scarlet and grey every Saturday afternoon in the fall
-Saying the words blue or Michigan is offensive
-You are proud to know that Wendy's started here
-You make jewelry from seeds off a tree and wear it to football games
-Even though you live in the NE part of the country and are in Eastern standard time you tell everyone you live in the Midwest
-And finally, these last 3 I copied from the list...
-You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.
-Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
-You know all 4 seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction.

You know you're from Texas when...
-You know Texas History better than any other subject, because they make you take it all 12 years of grade school
-You wore a huge mum covered with ribbons, bells, stickers, and to top it off, a teddy bear on homecoming day
-You understand Spanish better than properly spoken English
-You drive with your fingertips to avoid burning off all your finger prints
-Cockroaches are part of your family
-You know that ants bite
-School gets canceled because the temp is around 40 degrees, and there's a chance there is water that could freeze somewhere in the state
-During the summer you live in your swimsuit
-Your favorite time of year is winter, because the weather is bearable
-Your Ford truck is considered your small, compact vehicle
-If you could choose your last meal you would choose Papasitos and Blue Bell ice cream
-When you arrive at the airport you are masked with a blanket of humidity
-Pickles are sold at movie theaters
-You know Texas' pledge of allegiance better the the nations
-You own a shirt that say, "Don't mess with Texas"
-You always have Blue Bell ice cream stocked in your freezer
-The words, ya'll, fixin' and reckin' are part of your vocabulary
-You know how to use the words, ya'll, fixin' and reckin' in one sentence, example, "I reckin' ya'll are fixin' to go get some Blue Bell ice cream."
