Little Boy Red

It's pretty official that I have a redheaded little boy. It has taken me a while to admit, but I think it's time I came to reality. Redhead boys have a stereotype for being promiscuous and hot-tempered. Chase has been such a nice, calm baby I figured his hair could not be red, but as it grows in and gets thicker, there is no denying it. He is a redhead. I just hope he doesn't live up to that stereotype and have the same spit-fire personality as many other redhead boys. Maybe, just maybe, he'll continue to be the easy going kiddo he has always acted like. If not, then wish me luck, because I'll need it.

Kinlee

My sister Courtney is in the hospital with her precious baby girl Kinlee. Kinlee started having seizures every morning for the last 3 days. No one knows how or why this is happening. The hospital has been taking several tests and watching her very closely to make sure she recovers from each seizure. I know that many of you don't know her, but ask that you keep her in your prayers.

Handy Manny

Most people who have ever seen the show Handy Manny would think Manny was a cute, likable character. I'm sure Disney created him to appeal to kids like Baylor. Baylor has made it very clear that this is not the case. He for some reason is terrified of Handy Manny. I often have Baylor watch the Disney channel in the morning, so I can get ready and shower, and at the same time keep him out of mischief. I obviously don't have the Disney channel schedule memorized, so there have been times that Handy Manny came on. As soon as the show began Baylor would book it upstairs screaming in fear, "No Handy Manny. I don't want to see Handy Manny." I'd like to remind you this is a very nice, likable character. He goes around fixing things and helping people. He also has cute and funny talking tools that go on his adventures with him. Like Disney, I also thought he would be a character that Baylor would like, so a while ago I bought him some Handy Manny underwear. Anytime, I tried to get Baylor to wear it he refused. So, I stopped trying and put them in a basket in his room by his books. One night when Baylor was suppose to be in bed sleeping he got up to read his books. He then apparently discovered the basket with Handy Manny underwear. You could have put the Boogey Man in there and gotten a less extreme reaction from Baylor. He was terrified. I heard him screaming and crying, "No, I don't like Handy Manny!" I then rushed upstairs to find Baylor running towards me forcing me to take the underwear away. Needless to say, the Handy Manny underwear has been replaced by Thomas the Train.

Spring in Ohio

I have been feeling like a rock star mom lately. Not because I am, but just because I feel like such a better mom during the spring than I do during the winter. Is anyone else like that? I tried during the winter, but winter is hard with small kids. It's just difficult to get out and do stuff when it's so dang cold. So, we are happy to be having such a nice spring. It's rewarding being outside and being able to play and actually enjoy the weather. Since the weather is so nice in Ohio during the spring my boys and I are outside everyday. One very positive upside to that is that Baylor now takes naps, because he wears himself out playing outside. I'd like to remind you that he hasn't taken naps since November. Oh my goodness, I didn't realize how much I would appreciate nap time. We also love that Columbus has such great parks and recreation. This really is a beautiful and fun place to live. Well, we are just going to keep enjoying each other, and enjoying the spring weather and hope you do the same.

Houston's Dissappointment

Brody and I were having a delightful conversation before the Lakers vs. Rockets game this afternoon. Brody said to me, "If the Rockets beat the Laker we will move to Houston, and not only that, but we will live there until I retire." He also said, he would then become a Rockets, Astros, and Texans fan for life. These quotes were like music to my ears. Now I just needed the Rockets to win. But, what did the Rockets go and do? They lost. Not only did they lose, but they lost big time and played horribly. I felt like they crushed my dreams. I just keep reminding Brody that he never said he wouldn't move to Houston if they didn't win, so I still have a chance.

Here are some pictures of my kids. They have nothing to do with the story but what can I say, I like my boys.

Time Out

I'm off to Time Out today. Unlike this cute little munchkin I am not being punished and needing to sit in the corner. Although, I wouldn't mind that. I think it would be great to have a break and go into a corner and sit on my behind from time to time. I also think toddlers have it made when it comes to taking naps. I would pay someone money if they told me to go to sleep in the middle of the day. But anyways, Time Out is a woman's conference I am attending. Me and a group of 18 gals are on our way to Cincinnati this afternoon. We are going to enjoy shopping at the outlets, Ikea, eating out and then having a slumber party tonight. The conference is Saturday and should be a great session. Thanks to my hubby for being willing to stay home and watch the kids so I can enjoy this. I love ya babe!
