Catching up

Here is a little catch up of what we've been doing the last couple weeks....

We had a great St. Patty's day. I did an all green meal of mushroom ravioli's with green alfredo sauce, salad, green jello, green peas, and a green key lime cake. Baylor thought it was super cool. For the next week he kept asking for green dinners.

We've officially had the 1st day of spring. We love spring. One good thing about having harsh winters is that it makes you appreciate spring a lot more. We love going to the parks, the zoo, and playing outside.

Baylor started a new class at our rec. center called sporties for shorties. The class introduces a new sport each week. My mom and dad were visiting and took him to his 1st class.

My parent's just left this morning after visiting us for 10 days. It was so fun to have them here. They were originally coming to watch our kids while Brody and I went on a cruise, but we ended up canceling our cruise, so they just came to play with us. We went to a hotel and indoor water park. We went to the circus. We went to a waterfall and fishing in the river. We went to a few parks. We drove up to Kirtland and toured some church history sites. We BBQ'd and also went out to eat a few times. We went shopping at the mall. We watched our teams get beat in the NCAA basketball tournament. It snowed one of the days so Nana played in the snow with the kids. All and all we had a really great time. Here are lots and lots of pictures from their trip. Thanks for coming to visit, Mom and Dad.

Miles for Smiles

Yes, I know I look scary in this picture, but I did just finish a race in the freezing, cold rain. I ran a 5K (3.1 miles) today, and it was fun. Most people would agree that the words run and fun should not be in the same sentence, but I did enjoy it. I was the 1st place female finisher in my age group 25-35. I finished in 22:96, which is 7:35 mile pace. My next race will be the Columbus half marathon (13.1 miles) on May 1st. Hopefully my training will get my hopes up, because the half marathon is 10 more miles than the race I did today, and that seems so far. Oh well, if anything it will be fun to run and accomplish one of my goals. Oh no, there I go again, fun and run in the same sentence.

Our sleeping arrangement

-Chase sleeps in a huge king size bed all to himself
-Brody sleeps on the couch
-Baylor and I share his little bed

How does this happen you might ask. Well, everyone in our family is sick with a cough right now, and therefore everybody wakes up with cough attacks during the night. Chase's is usually around 1:30, so I bring him into my room, because Baylor freaks out if Chase wakes him up. Baylor then has a cough attack at 4:30, and the only way I can get him to go back to bed without waking everyone up is if I lay down with him. Brody has the loudest cough you have ever heard, so he sleep downstairs on the couch.

Yep, Chase definitely has the best set up on this big ol' bed all by himself

No more pictures

For about the last month this is what most of Chases pictures have looked like. As soon as I get out the camera and try taking pictures, he starts grabbing at the camera yelling, "No, no". After which he lays face down on the floor bawling about the horrific experience he just went through.

So I think I may stop using the camera, since it is such a traumatic experience for Chase, and let Baylor draw our pictures instead. I know what you are thinking, these drawings pretty much look exactly like us, right? I never realized how much I looked like Mr. Potatohead. Thanks for the portraits Baylor.
