Happy 4th of July

It may appear I have lost it by the title of this post since it is nearly August, but I haven't...well not yet. I am just a bit behind on posting so here is about where I left off.
Brody and I have totally different stories to share about our 4th of July, even though we were together and did the same thing. I thought it was great and lots of fun, but I grew up in Houston and know what to expect the weather to be like in July...hot and humid. Brody on the other hand had heard about it being hot, but had not yet experienced an entire day and evening in Houston, outside in July. So yes, it was hot. It was humid. When the sun went down it did not cool down. Brody could not believe it. He thought he was going to sweat to death. I'm pretty sure he will be telling our grandchildren about how freakin' hot and miserable it was. We still had a good holiday though. We went to the Kingwood parade in the morning. Swimming and BBQ in the afternoon. Another BBQ and did fireworks that night. Here are a few pictures.

Our new place

Here is our new place. It's not much, but it's good for an apartment. It has 3 bedrooms so my kids don't share a room anymore. They go to bed at the same time now and don't wake each other up during the night..thank goodness. I also have space to put their toys in their room so they aren't all over my living room anymore. Some other things I like is it doesn't have popcorn ceilings or carpet that looks like it belongs in a school hallway like our last place did. As for Brody he's just excited that the freezer has an ice maker. The first thing he said to me when I got here was, "Stacey, check out this freezer. It makes ice". We are so easily amazed.
I'll have more of an update on our move, the job and our recent trips later. We just got the internet hooked up and all moved in so I'm hoping to have a little more time to do that.

Off again

We are off again. This time to Utah. We are trying to set a world record for how long we can be nomads with no real place to call home. But after this trip we will have to kick the nomad lifestyle goodbye and move to our new home in Lake Charles.
We have had a great time in Houston staying with family. I absolutely love being by my family. Brody made it down here from Ohio a couple of weeks ago. After he got here he went to Lake Charles and started figuring out what things would be like at his new job. He was not licenced so he couldn't do anything with dentistry, but he got a lot of other things done. He really, really likes the practice and staff. He feels like this is a golden opportunity. He is so excited to start working.
Brody is officially a licenced dentist as of today. He could technically start working now, but I've decided to make him go to a Jensen family reunion for the next week instead...sucker. He already has a full schedule and is set to start working on Monday, July 19th. We've got a busy 1 1/2 weeks ahead of us. Next time I post I'll have pictures from our trip, our move, our new home and Brody's new job.
