Blog Book

I recently make a blog book using Blurb. It was not very hard, time consuming or expensive. I love the way it turned out. Here are a few pictures I took of the book.

Spring Crafts

I love these festive spring blocks I made at craft group. My mother-in-law gave me a cute Easter egg garland that just happened to match perfectly.

We also recently made ties. They would be really great Father's Day gifts. I already gave mine to Brody though.

100th Post!

Whoopee! I did it. Two years and two months later I am writing my 100th post.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was at a friends house for craft night when the conversation of blogging came up. I didn't know what it was, and therefore should have been shun from society, because I'm pretty sure I thought blogging was an Irish folk dance with wooden shoes (apparently if I don't know what something means I just think of something it rhymes with). Fortunately, I had some good friends that helped me find my way. I started blogging, but I didn't know what to blog about. I figured I would write an update from time to time about the kids and post pictures for grandparents, siblings, and friends to see. I thought it was a great way to keep family in the loop with updates and pictures since they live so far away from us.

After a little while I changed my reasons for blogging (don't worry family I still do it for you too). I have never been very good at keeping a journal or scrapbooking. I decided I would try to blog at least once a week and use that as my journal/scrapbook. I know a lot of people think that's not a good idea, but for me I was doing nothing before, so this was better than nothing. I feel like it is similar especially because I can print my blog into a book and keep it like I would a journal or scrapbook. I already look back at older post and laugh. I'm sure my children will do the same when they get older.

I feel like blogging is a great alternative for those people like me who want to have memories captured, journaled, and photographed, but just don't have it together enough to pull out a journal or get out scrapbooking supplies every time something happens in their family. I think blogging is great. I have loved taking the time to write about my children, husband, goals, achievements, hobbies, vacations, holidays, fun stories, kids milestones, and memories.

So, that is it. For my 100th post I decided to tell you why I have posted 100 post. Happy 100th Post Day!!

Nursery is Great!

Here's Chase walking in the door after a hard day at nursery. He is now 18 months, so he started going to nursery at church this week. Chase did great, and I'm sure he won't have any problems, because he's such a good, easy going little dude. I'm excited for him to be in nursery and learn about playing, sharing, friendship, family and the gospel.

Baylor has something new to share this week too. He recently started writing letters and words. His favorite thing to write is his name. He's been writing it on every inch of concrete he can find, so beware if you have a clean sidewalk.

High 5

Like most toddlers, Chase is all about giving high 5's to people. Recently he has crossed the line to being obsessed with giving high 5's. He will give a high 5 to anything and everything.

Oh, don't worry Chase just carries Mr. Potatohead's arm around the house and gives it high 5 every chance he gets.

This DVD was on the floor the other day, and Brody and I heard Chase saying, "high 5", and then giving it a high 5. We then looked at the cover and laughed.

Chase also has a few book with characters waving, and whenever he reads those books you will always find him giving them high 5's.

Happy Birthday and Happy Easter

Sorry no pictures. Baylor threw my camera across the room the other day, and it is now broken. (sigh)

Happy Birthday Brody
Brody had his 33rd birthday on Friday. He's getting old, but he's still young at heart...maybe a little too young. Sometimes I feel like I'm married to a 15 year old by the way he acts, J/K. Brody wanted to see the movie, Clash of the Titans, so we did, and it was way lame. We then met some friends at PF Changs (yummy), and we all came back to our house and played outside games and had cookie cake and ice cream. We love Brody so much, and we are so happy to celebrate his birthday.

Happy Easter
We hope everyone is having a great Easter. I love Easter, not because of the chocolate eggs and candy, although I like that too. But I love it because it is a time to remember Christ life, the atonement, and resurrection. Three days after Christ was crucified he rose. He lives! We know that death is not the end of our existence. We too can live again in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following Easter message: April 15, 2006

"At this wonderful season of hope and renewal we testify of the glorious reality of the atonement and resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. The empty tomb brought the most comforting assurance that can come into man’s heart. This was the affirmative answer to the ageless question raised by Job, "If a man die, shall he live again?" (Job 14:14).

"As stated by the angel on that first resurrection morn, "Why seek ye the living among the dead?" (Luke 24:5). "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said" (Matthew 28:6).

"This is the promise of the risen Lord. This is the relevance of Jesus to a world in which all must die. Of all the victories in human history, none is so great, none so universal in its effect, none so everlasting in its consequences as the victory of the crucified Lord, who came forth in the resurrection that first Easter morning."
