My Wedge

I got tagged a while ago and in my tag I mentioned I looked like a boy most of my childhood, because I had a "wedge" haircut. A few people replied saying it couldn't have been that bad. Some wanted to see pictures. I forgot about this until recently when I was visiting my parents house in Houston. They have many pictures of me with this hideous haircut. I showed Baylor one of the pictures knowing that he would be truthful about the haircut making me look like a boy. I showed him this pictures and told him I was the little girl on the left. I told him that was me when I was a little girl, to which he replied, "That is not you, that is a boy...just like I'm a boy."

Share 6 non-important things/ habits /quirks about yourself

#1 I sucked my thumb until I was 8. I know that's forever. I tried to convenience everyone it was okay because it taste like spaghetti. After a while I only sucked my thumb at night. After trying everything my mom made me sleep with socks on my hands. I soon discovered that nearly all my socks had holes in them, so I would just pick the ones with holes and stick my thumb through the holes and continue my horrible habit.

#2 Growing up I lived in 2 different places. The first was Midland, Texas, which is where I was born and then we moved to Houston when I was 8. While living in Midland we had a pretty small house and a not so small family. There were 13 people in a 4 bedroom house. I shared a room with 5 of my sisters. That's right 6 girls in one room. I don't know of anyone that can top that, but if so let me know.

#3 One of my frantic childhood memories is an encounter with an armadillo. It all happened one summer day while bike riding with my friend to Sonic (which Brody refers to as “Slow”nic), which is a another story, because in Texas Sonic is awesome and fast, but apparently everywhere else in the country they are slow and not so great. Back to my story...my friend and I were almost there when we came across an armadillo. I swear the armadillo looked at us with its beady little red eyes and started chasing us away. We turned and rode away as fast as we could not looking back, fearing that if we did the armadillo would claw our eyes out.

#4 Apparently in the mid-late 80's there was a new fabulous haircut called the wedge. I was about 6-7 years old when I decided with two other sisters that we had to get this haircut. My two other sisters quickly grew out their hair, but I kept this boy like hair cut for about 4 years. I looked like a little boy for most of my childhood. I have a brother-in-law that refers to me as Stan instead of Stacey when he sees pictures of me with this haircut.

#5 I have only one somewhat adventurous experience in my life that I can think of. I know it's kind of lame but here it is. While in high school some friends convinced me to climb the 2 story building that the school's swimming pool was in. When we got to the top we were to hang from an open air vent and drop into the swimming pool. I was fearless and I did it. You can all applaud me and carry me on your shoulders next time you see me.

#6 Randomly, I know the make and model of cars really well. You can point out a car in a parking lot and cover the name and make and I could tell you what it was and possibly the year it was made. I don't know how I know these things but I do. I'm really good just try to test me.

Okay, first of all I couldn't stop laughing at your brother in law calling you Stan in the childhood pictures.

Secondly, I TOTALLY agree with the Sonic comment. I've only been to Sonics in Texas and Utah but I ALWAYS complain here in Utah. My husband is so tired of me saying, "Wish we were in Texas. We'd be eating our food right now. They are so slow." I'm glad someone else thinks the same thing.

Looks like Samantha and I are growing out our wedge haircuts in this pic, I think you were still trying to hold on to the craze.
