So apparently we missed the memo when we moved to Ohio about Beggars Night. If Halloween falls on a Friday, and you live in Dublin then you go trick or treating between 6-8 on Thursday, October 30th. It's weird because if you live in Columbus or a different suburb you can go on Halloween or at a different time. I don't know why but that's the way it is, and everyone sticks to these rules. We had absolutely no trick or treaters on Halloween. Like I said we missed the memo, so we actually went out on Halloween. I could tell people who saw us were thinking...What is wrong with those foolish parents? Who do they think they are dressing their children up on Halloween and going trick or treating? We were apparently out of their minds. So, a special thanks to our friends who let us trick or treat at their house even though we were pretty much criminals for not following the city rules and trick or treating on the wrong night. Here are a couple pictures of my boys on Halloween...not Beggars Night. What can I say, we are such rebels.

That is so weird! I wonder why on earth they do that.
that is something that took some getting used to when we were ohio. This halloween, here in CO, I kept asking people if they knew what night we were supposed to trick or treat and what times was trick or treat and everyone thought i was crazy. So, we took our kids out on actual halloween, at whatever time we got around to it. It was refreshing.
I would have had no clue either. How do people find out that it changes like that? I didn't even know until I heard it like the day before. I wish I would have known or I would have shared the info. They look adorable especially Tigger. I love it.
That's alright people in Utah don't understand that you are not supposed to knock on a door when the lights off. We finally had to put a sign on our doors saying no more candy. Everyone is supposed to know that rule, right.(only trick'or'treat the homes with their front porch light on?)
My son had the same tiger costume! Not only is it silly to go trick or treating on a different night but calling it beggars night is even sillier!
I totally remember that crazy law or tradition really. It's silly just have Halloween on Halloween. I love that you guys went on the real halloween night. Your kids look so cute!
That is hilarious!
BTW, we're going to go private soon. Email me if you want an invite! murrayfamily04 AT gmail DOT com
Your kids are so cute, including brody! haha, I"m sad we're not coming out for thanksgiving too, I just want to hold little Chase, but I'm sure Stephanee will be hugging him enough for the both of us!
