I feel like I haven't posted in a while. A ton has happened so I'll just start by rambling some thoughts about recent events.
I have been so clumsy lately. I made pizza the other day and as I was getting it out of the oven I tilted the pan and all the topping slid into the oven. Might I add it was the biggest mess I have ever had to clean. I also spill milk even time I poor it. After doing things like this every moment of every day Brody mentioned clumsiness is part of pregnancy. And there really is a medical reason for being clumsy when pregnant. So, I have an excuse for the next 4 months.
We have ants. Last year we used these raid ant house bate things, and the ants would take the poison and then share it with their colony and kill them all...haha stupid, naive ants. It worked last year, but apparently the ants have evolved into brilliant, immortal creatures and aren't dying this year. So, does anyone know what works?
I got a letter from the state of Ohio this week, and they think I owe them almost $1,300 because I didn't file state taxes in 2006, which is true because I didn't live or work here. We moved here Sept '06 and had no income in Ohio so filed in Utah. Ohio says if I don't pay in 30 days they will bomb and attack me and take everything I'm worth...that's right, don't mess with the government. We filed through HR Block, so I talked to a guy there today and he was suppose to call me back when he figured it out. He never did so I hope I hear from him tomorrow.
I am going to Houston next week to visit my family. I am very excited. I'm sure I'll post pictures and comment about my trip when I get back.
So, people often talk about getting locked out of their house by their children. If they live where I live they just get maintenance to unlock their door. I got locked out of my house, but my story is not as simple as getting maintenance to unlocking my door. I have a latch on my basement door and my front door and the only way to open it is if you unlatch it from the inside. So, Brody was in our basement studying, and I latched that door so Baylor wouldn't keep going down. I also latched the front so Baylor wouldn't just run outside. So, I went out on our patio for one second to flip some steaks on the grill, and Baylor had slid the bar that locks the back sliding door against the door so I was locked outside. Maintenance couldn't help me, because you have to be inside to unlatch the doors. In fact, I'm sure they would think I'm crazy locking my husband in the basement and my child inside. I began to panic when I noticed Baylor mimicking me, so I pretended like I was moving the bar that locks the siding door and he copied me and actually moved the bar. Good thing my son is brilliant.

That is the funniest story I have ever heard about being locked out of your house. I'm glad you were able to get back inside so quickly. I hope everything works out with your taxes. Good Luck!
You are so funny!! I love it:-) I can't believe that the Ohio Gov. is wanting you to pay that much money. I am sure that you will get it all worked out. I have also locked myself out of my house so many times. good thing Baylor helped you out:-)
You do have a brilliant son!!! Funny story! Glad you made it back in the house!!!!
That is hilarious! I am glad that you could get Baylor to copy you!
Just to let you know, you are not the only one who is super clumsy during pregnancy. I would manage to burn or cut myself almost daily!
I've waged a bitter battle against carpenter ants (aka: the big black ones) at my house the past two years. (Jared calls me the "ant hunter") Anyhoo, I've found that "Terro" brand ant baits work pretty well, at least for the type of ant we have. The only trouble is that I have a hard time keeping my own little ant named "Mitch" away from them.
PS That's lame about your taxes. The government stinks.
Home Defense is the only thing I can get to work. Come borrow mine and see if it works. Your story about getting locked out it so funny!
Your stories were hilarious. I don't miss the ants. When I was pregnant with Tanner I got really clumsy and I locked myself out of everything... the car at least three times and the house I think twice. Good luck with that!
